Embedding Flash video is now becoming very popular with website owners and can be done quite cost effectively.
Before you can use your video on your site - you need to record it in a format that can be compressed and converted to Flash video. We recommend that you record your video to your computer from your camera using something simple like Windows Movie Maker. Make sure that you record it in the format '.avi'. Other tools are available and may provide higher fidelity and more options but we are after simplicity here, and the difference is not very noticeable anyhow. Once you have recorded the video, a tool like Sorenson Squeeze for Flash, is used to convert the .avi video to .flv (Flash format).
Basespace is working on an Expansion to enable our customers to send .flv video to their sites, so look out for it in the future. Alternately if you would like video on your website before this service becomes available - please contact you Architect who can advise on the process of getting video playing on your website right away.
